Understanding Student Success Center - User Personas (FAQ)

What are the benefits of the SSC User Personas?

  • Only Admin users will be able to access and change SSC Settings.
  • The Settings icon has been relocated to the bottom navigation bar (and is hidden from non-admin users)
  • The SSC Settings UI includes a confirmation pop-up when saving to notify an Admin that any changes they make will affect all users.
  • The Priority SSC picklist field was updated this to use the cache feature in SSC Preferences instead of making an API call.

What are the two user personas for SSC?

  • Admin User - TX Student Success Center (Admin)
    • Admin users will have full access to SSC Settings and be able to configure all of the different elements currently available in SSC.
    • Users with this level of access will essentially be the same as the legacy permission set and will continue to have access to all elements of the tool.
  • End-User (Advisor) - TX Student Success Center (Advisor/Standard)
    • Advisor/Standard users will be able to perform all of the current actions available in SSC, but will not  have access to the SSC Settings.
    • The SSC Settings icon is hidden from these users to prevent changing the experience for other users.

What are the recommended Permission Sets for each new user persona?

  • Admin User - TX Student Success Center (Admin)
  • End-User (Advisor) - TX Student Success Center (Advisor/Standard)
