Release 4 – May 4, 2025
New Features and Enhancements
Cross-Portal Enhancements
Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.
IELTS One Skill Retake Test
This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs that accept official IELTS scores. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) offers the One Skill Retake, which allows test takers who have recently completed a full IELTS test to retake one of the four skills (Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking). This is beneficial if the test taker feels their performance in that particular section wasn't representative of their English ability.
CAS Applicant Portal
If your CAS accepts official IELTS scores, applicants can submit their official One Skill Retake scores to the CAS.
CAS API
The CAS API Application v1 and v2 data models now support IELTS One Skill Retake scores. The existing IELT JSON node has two new properties to capture the One Skill Retake data (osrDateTestTaken and osrTrfNumber) while the existing module property specifies the skill test type (e.g., IELTS Academic One Skill Retake: Writing).
Liaison Outcomes
One Skill Retake scores appear in line with other IELTS scores.
WebAdMIT
The IELTS test score fields have been updated so that each skill has two fields to capture both the original test score and the One Skill Retake score. The first attempt of the test score is listed in the Original Skill field (e.g., Original Listening) while the One Skill Retake score is listed in the Skill field (e.g., Listening).
The test scores for an applicant's first attempt will be listed in both skill fields, and if they submit a One Skill Retake score, then the new score will be listed in the applicable skill field.
CAS API Enhancements
The following enhancements are automatically available for the CAS API, and no action is required on the part of any school or program. If you have any questions about these features, contact support.
Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.
Enhanced CAS Configuration API Performance
The CAS Configuration APIs have been enhanced for faster performance. This performance improvement impacts all CAS APIs containing configuration-related data.
CAS Applicant Gateway Enhancements
The following enhancements are now available in the Applicant Gateway. If you have any questions about these features, contact a member of your account team or support.
Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.
Reset Select Activities to Draft Status
This enhancement is automatically available for use by WebAdMIT for AMCAS. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.
Association users can now reset select individual activities (e.g., supplemental application, schedule interview, extend offer, etc.) back to a draft status, as long as applicants have not used or completed the activity. The Reset to Draft button appears on each individual activity. If an applicant is using the activity, then an error message appears when the button is clicked.
EMP Enhancements
The following enhancements are automatically available for EMP, and no action is required on the part of any school or program. If you have any questions about these features, contact your Client Success Manager or support.
Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.
Enhanced Email Address Validation
Email validation now occurs before emails are sent, when they are imported into EMP. Emails were previously validated only after they were sent. This prevents sending to fake email addresses and improves email deliverability, inbox rates, and reputation scores. Reports now track the number of emails removed due to invalid addresses. Additionally, invalid emails are checked quarterly until they become valid.
Liaison Outcomes Enhancements
The following enhancements are now available in Liaison Outcomes. If you have any questions about these features, contact a member of your account team or support.
Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.
Enhanced Email Deliverability Reporting
Beginning May 11, this enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.
For greater visibility into the status and performance of your emails, Outcomes now offers detailed reports on emails sent from the Applications Grid or Contacts Grid. These reports include information about each email's deliverability and recipients.
Improvements include:
- Improved email summary reports: full summary reports (previously only available for marketing emails) are now available for all emails sent via the Applications Grid or Contacts Grid. These reports include information on open and click rates, delivery and failure details, unsubscribes, and more.
- Improved recipient status tracking: view which recipients received your emails and which did not, including reasons for failure.
- Improved deliverability details for each message: from the Messaging section, you can now see a live delivery status (e.g., sent, failed, etc.) for each message you've sent.
To access the enhanced deliverability reports, click the Activity icon on the Navigation Menu, and click Emails. The details of emails sent prior to this enhancement are available by clicking OLDER EMAILS on this page.
Reformatted Outcomes Question Labels
Beginning May 11, this enhancement is automatically available for use by most CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.
Initiated with 2024 Release 9, question labels have been reformatted to make application questions easier to identify when creating exports, segments, and data restrictions. This improves readability and accuracy when selecting these fields in Outcomes. Contact a member of your account team with any questions.
Transfer Planner Enhancements
The following enhancements are now available in CSU Transfer Planner Student and Campus (i.e., University and Community College) Portals. If you have any questions about these features, contact a member of your account team or support.
Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.
Student Portal: Major Requirements View on Transfer Plan Page
Students are encouraged to complete specific major prerequisites (i.e., requirements) before they can transfer to a CSU, as it can help the transfer process and shorten the time spent earning their degree at a CSU. For each of a student's followed programs, they can now see a list of the transfer major prerequisites on the Transfer Plan page and identify which of their community college coursework meets each prerequisite. Additionally, students can quickly access their ASSIST articulation agreements for further guidance.
Student Portal: ADT Progress View on Transfer Plan Page
Students can choose to pursue an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) at a community college; pursuing this degree gives the student a smoother and more direct path to transferring to a CSU, as the ADT is fully transferable and guarantees priority admission (with minimum eligibility requirements).
If a student's followed program offers an ADT, students can now select the applicable ADT from the Transfer Plan page. They can then view the ADT coursework list and identify which of their community college coursework meets each prerequisite.
Campus Portals: University Portal Users Can Identify CSU Campus Release Reason for TSP Revocation
When University Portal users revoke students for a TSP agreement, they can now identify why the student is being released. A new CSU Campus Release Reason drop-down is available where you can select the most applicable option.
Additionally, to differentiate between the student's and the university's release reasons, the existing TSP Release Reason field was renamed TSP Student Release Reason.
Campus Portals: University Portal Users Can Update Intended Transfer Term
Occasionally, University Portal users need to note a change to a student's intended transfer term. To accommodate this, a new CSU Campus Anticipated Transfer Term field is available.
Additionally, to differentiate between the student's and the university's intended transfer terms, the existing Intended Transfer Term field was renamed Student Reported Intended Transfer Term.
Campus Portals: New Filters for Standardized Tests and General Education
To help you manage your student pools more efficiently, the Segments feature now has additional filter options, including:
- Standardized Tests
- General Education
WebAdMIT Enhancements
The following enhancements are now available in WebAdMIT. If you have any questions about these features, contact a member of your account team or support.
Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.
New Subpanels by Question Block on CAS Custom Questions Panel
For CASs who have not launched their 2025-2026 cycle yet, this enhancement will be automatically available for use in the next cycle. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program.
For CASs that have already launched their 2025-2026 cycle or for CASs interested in turning this on for the 2024-2025 cycle, contact a member of your account team for more information.
The CAS Custom Questions panel on the Applicant Details page stores all of a CAS's custom questions and question blocks from the Personal Information, Academic History, and Supporting Information sections. Previously, all questions and question blocks were grouped together. With this enhancement, each question block now has its own subpanel, with the applicable questions listed underneath it. Note the following:
- All subpanels are listed in alphabetical order.
- Up to four subpanels will appear, and if you have access to more, they are accessible from the More CAS Custom Questions subpanel.
- You can restrict a user's subpanel access via the Work Groups feature.
- You can specify which subpanels are included in the PDF Manager's full application PDF bulk downloads.
- A new checkbox appears on the Work Groups and PDF Manager page, where you can confirm if you want new question blocks that are added mid-cycle to automatically be added to your Work Group and PDF Manager templates. Using this will save you time by eliminating the need to manually update your templates when changes occur, such as mid-cycle or during the Transfer Settings process for a new cycle.
This enhancement shortens the overall length of the panel and allows you to regulate by Work Groups which users have access to specific types of applicant data (e.g., you can share a question block related to the release statement agreement, but not share a question block related to an applicant's gender identity).

Shared Lookup Table Updates for Fall 2025 |
September 2025 |
Many fields in the Applicant Portal contain predefined answer values that applicants can select; for example, the Country and County fields both have predefined answer values. These values are housed in shared "lookup tables" which are viewable in your CAS's/UniCAS's data dictionary file. Lookup table change requests can be sent to a member of your account team, who will compile and review these requests. The last date to submit lookup table update requests is June 13, 2025. New lookup table values will appear in the CAS Applicant Portal in September 2025 (subject to change). Visit the Shared Lookup Table Updates page for more information. |
