Release 10 – November 3, 2024

New Features and Enhancements

CAS API Enhancements

The following enhancements are automatically available for the CAS API, and no action is required on the part of any school or program. If you have any questions about these features, contact support.

Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.

New Switch Prevents Automatic Subscription Rollover

The CAS API Subscription API now supports a new property "rolloverDisabled." If this property is set as TRUE, the subscription will not automatically roll over to the next cycle.

Support for Updated and Canceled Official IELTS Academic Scores

Liaison now supports updated and canceled Official IELTS Academic scores. If a score was updated, the updated date timestamp will be different, as well as the impacted score. To capture this value, look for changes in score values or updated dates; there are no other indicators that a score was updated. Note that Liaison deletes records of canceled scores entirely, so these will no longer appear in WebAdMIT or Liaison Outcomes.

CAS Configuration Portal Enhancements

The following enhancements are now available in the CAS Configuration Portal. If you have any questions about these features, contact a member of your account team or support.

Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.

Program Attributes Report for Association Users

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.

Association users can now download program attribute data for all organizations and programs within a CAS and cycle from the CAS Configuration Portal. This allows association users to have a bird's eye view of all their participating programs' information and be able to review and filter data quickly and easily within a spreadsheet.

Note that this report only includes program attribute data (e.g., program name, deadline, fees, etc.). It does not include any program configurations for questions, documents, college transcripts, prerequisites, recommendations, etc.

To access this report, click the edit icon next to the cycle years, then click the Export button on the Organizations & Programs page.

Enhanced Contact Email Features

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.

Similar to recent updates to applicant emails, contact emailing has a new user interface, template options, and features. Enhancements include:

  • New Send Email panel accessible from the Contacts Grid.
  • New Contact Email Templates, accessible from the Contacts section of the Settings Menu.*
  • Updated Batch Action Menu in the Contacts Grid, where clicking Email opens the new contact email editor, and clicking Marketing presents options for marketing communications.

New Merge Fields in Export File Names

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.

When creating exports with customized file names, Outcomes now allows you to use a wider variety of merge fields in file names. This includes many contact-scoped properties and any application-scoped properties with data types of Number, String, or Date, so long as they are not encrypted. Along with this enhancement, custom file name lengths are limited to 255 characters.

Enhancements to the Events Portal

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.

Several enhancements were made to the Events portal, including:

  • The ability to update the details of all occurrences of an event after it has been published.
  • A new key performance indicator, Total Registrations, that tallies all registrations with a status of Registered or Checked In.
  • A feature that allows any searches or filters you added to the Events grid to remain in place after navigating away from the grid.

These enhancements allow you to gain more insights and work more efficiently in the Events portal.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for Outcomes Accounts

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.

Outcomes now supports two-factor authentication (2FA). To enable it, click your account icon at the bottom of the navigation panel, then click My Account and Enable two-factor authentication.

WebAdMIT Enhancements

The following enhancements are now available in WebAdMIT. If you have any questions about these features, contact a member of your account team or support.

Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.

Retain Template Owner After Transfer Settings

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.

The Transfer Settings feature allows programs to carry forward templates they built in WebAdMIT from the previous cycle into the new cycle. Only Institution Managers who are in the WebAdMIT Administrators Work Group can initiate the Transfer Settings feature, and previously, they became the owner for all lists, exports, reports, PDF Manager templates, and email templates.

With this enhancement, the original owner/creator of the template will remain the owner after the Transfer Settings feature is run. This allows those template creators to have continual editing and management access across cycles. The Settings Transfer report has also been updated to reflect this new behavior.

Note that if the original owner does not exist or is not active in the new cycle, the user who runs the Transfer Settings feature will become the owner in the new cycle.

Optional Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for WebAdMIT

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.

You now have the option to activate multi-factor authentication (MFA) using any standard two-factor authentication (2FA) app (e.g., Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, etc.). You can activate it by clicking Account in the top right corner, then clicking Enable MFA.

If you activate it, you'll follow the standard MFA process, including verifying your account with a six-digit code. This enhancement provides you with an alternate way to securely manage your WebAdMIT account.

Coming Soon: Updated IP Addresses for Production Environment

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.

WebAdMIT will have a planned migration of IP addresses for the production (i.e., live) environment. This migration is scheduled for Sunday, January 12, 2025 and WebAdMIT will be unavailable during this migration.

If you safe-listed the entire range of IP addresses (available on the Technical Requirements page), you do not need to make any changes.

If you safe-listed a smaller set of IP addresses, you will want to notify your IT department and either safe-list the entire range or the new smaller set. You can contact a member of your account team for the smaller set of IP addresses.

Note that the IP address changes impact inbound traffic only (e.g., sending data into WebAdMIT using the WebAdMIT API); IP addresses for outbound traffic are not affected.

Shared Lookup Table Updates for Spring 2025

March 2025

Many fields in the Applicant Portal contain predefined answer values that applicants can select; for example, the Country and County fields both have predefined answer values. These values are housed in shared "lookup tables" which are viewable in your CAS's/UniCAS's data dictionary file.

Lookup table change requests can be sent to a member of your account team, who will compile and review these requests. New lookup table values will appear in the CAS Applicant Portal in March 2025 (subject to change).

Visit the Shared Lookup Table Updates page for more information.
