Release 9 – October 4, 2026

New Features and Enhancements

Cross-Portal Enhancements

Liaison's suite of portals work together to help you collect and manage applications. The CAS application, also referred to as the CAS Applicant Portal, is the system where applicants find and apply to your programs. You receive these applications in WebAdMIT or Liaison Outcomes, where you perform your review processes. The appearance of your program and your requirements are customized in the CAS Configuration Portal, where you establish the program-specific elements that your applicants will interact with. Additionally, your program may use one or more of the following tools and platforms:

  • API: a data integration tool.
  • CAS Applicant Gateway: a platform for applicants who have already submitted their CAS application to complete and upload additional materials requested by their programs.
  • CAS Liaison Analytics and Othot: advanced analytics solutions and data reporting tools.
  • CAS Liaison Letters: a platform for evaluators to submit their letters of recommendation.
  • Enrollment Marketing and TargetX: customer relationship management (CRM) systems for student lifecycle management.
  • Living Profile: a platform where students can connect their academic pursuits with their career aspirations.
  • SlideRoom: a platform for collecting digital portfolios.
  • Time2Track: a platform for tracking, verifying, and managing experiences.

Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.

Share WebAdMIT Interview Schedules with Applicants in CAS Applicant Portal

This enhancement must be approved by the CAS association or UniCAS client for use in the next cycle. If activated, this enhancement will be available for all participating programs in the next cycle. CAS association and UniCAS clients: contact a member of your account team for more information or to enable this feature.

If available to you, you can share interview dates and times configured in WebAdMIT with applicants in the CAS Applicant Portal. When setting up interviews, you can choose to share your selected interview information or invite applicants to schedule their own interview dates. This enhancement improves the interview scheduling process by enabling applicants to self-select interview times and consolidating interview information within the application.

WebAdMIT

When configuring Interview templates, you can select the Template can be shared with the CAS checkbox. Once selected, you can then configure how your interview will display to applicants, schedules that the applicant can select from, and a time zone that you will conduct your interviews in. Additionally, you can create an email template to alert applicants to the interview invitation.

Note that if you allow applicants to self-select their interview times, they can only choose the dates and times you have listed in the Interview template. Their selection appears in WebAdMIT after they save it in the CAS Applicant Portal.

CAS Applicant Portal

Once an applicant has an interview set up in WebAdMIT, they will:

  • Receive a notification alert within the application with the interview invitation information.
  • View a What's Next tile that includes a link to the My Interviews section.
  • Access a new My Interviews section in the My Profile section. From here, applicants can either self-select their interview times or view the one you preselected.

CAS API Enhancements

The following enhancements are automatically available for the CAS API, and no action is required on the part of any school or program. If you have any questions about these features, contact support.

Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.

Custom-section Completion Status for Applicant Information

To help more clearly identify whether applicants have completed each configured custom section, the CAS API now includes completion status information for custom sections configured within the Applicant Information portion of an application as follows:

  • A new JSON node customSections is introduced in the root of each quadrant-level JSON node in the application model (both v1 and v2).
  • The customSections node contains a list of completion statuses for each custom section.

Consumers of the application model can associate the custom section completion status with any custom questions belonging to the custom section. The subSectionIdentifier will be included in each new customSection object, allowing you to join the custom section completion status with custom questions belonging to the custom section.

CAS Applicant Portal Enhancements

Retire Transcript ID Form and Simplify Transcript Ordering

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs on the 3+ platform that process official transcripts and foreign coursework evaluations. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.

For CASs on the 3+ platform that request or require applicants to submit official transcripts or foreign coursework evaluations, applicants previously had to download a Transcript ID Form (also known as the Transcript Request Form (TRF)) that included their transcript's unique barcode ID and submit it to their school's Registrar's office. The school then had to send a copy of the official transcript with the Transcript ID Form so that Liaison could properly match an applicant's transcript to their application.

Liaison's transcript and foreign evaluation Processing team has significantly improved transcript matching so that the Transcript ID Form is no longer needed. Now, when applicants order an official transcript or foreign coursework evaluation from the application, rather than downloading a separate form, they can instead copy their transcript's unique barcode ID (and if available, full mailing address) and submit it with their request to the Registrar's office. Additionally, the instructions around the transcript and foreign coursework evaluation request process have been updated and shortened. This enhancement simplifies the applicant's transcript request process and eliminates unnecessary supplemental documents.

WES Preferred Partner Feature

This enhancement must be approved by the CAS association or UniCAS client for use in the next cycle. If activated, this enhancement will be available for all participating programs in the next cycle. CAS association and UniCAS clients: contact a member of your account team for more information or to enable this feature.

World Education Service (WES) processes foreign transcript evaluations and partners with many CASs to provide this service. With this enhancement, a CAS can indicate that WES is their preferred evaluation service, which makes the WES electronic evaluation request flow more prominent, while still allowing applicants to choose an alternate evaluation service.

EMP Enhancements

The following enhancements are automatically available for EMP, and no action is required on the part of any school or program. If you have any questions about these features, contact your Client Success Manager or support.

Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.

Nurture Campaign Scheduling

Nurture campaign tracks now have the option to set a scheduled start date and time, similar to blast campaign tracks. The cadence of the content starts based on the date and time set in the first tier of the track. For example, if you set the track start for September 1 at 12:15 PM, students will receive the content in the campaign cadence starting on that date and time.

There is also a new option for sending the first tier in a nurture track. Now you can send the tier 0 days after entering the selected stage(s). A student begins receiving campaign content the same day they meet the criteria for that campaign. Previously, a nurture campaign track could only be set to begin as early as one day after a student met the criteria for that campaign.

Liaison Analytics Enhancements

The following enhancements are now available in Liaison Analytics. If you have any questions about these features, contact a member of your account team or support.

Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.

Coming Soon: Inactive Account Cleanup

Starting in early November, accounts that have not been used within the past 18 months, as well as accounts that were created but never activated more than 18 months ago, will be deactivated. This enhances the security of Analytics and ensures only current and active users can access data. If a user requires renewed access, they can follow the standard process to Request an Account.

Liaison Outcomes Enhancements

The following enhancements are now available in Liaison Outcomes. If you have any questions about these features, contact a member of your account team or support.

Disclaimer: on rare occasions, a new feature or enhancement may be moved to a future release or otherwise subject to change.

Email Subject Line Character Limit

This enhancement is automatically available for use by all CASs and participating programs. No action is required on the part of any association, school, or program. Contact a member of your account team for more information.

Email subject lines now have a maximum length of 75 characters. This enhancement encourages concise subject lines and reduces potential delivery issues associated with excessively long subject lines. With this update:

  • A character counter displays the number of characters remaining as you enter a subject line.
  • Merge fields do not count toward the 75-character limit.
  • Existing email subject lines will remain unchanged.

In line with this enhancement, consider updating your existing templates to adhere to this best practice.

  • Missing Application Materials: review applicants who are missing key application materials.
  • Applications by Interview Status: monitor the interview status of applicants' submitted applications.
  • Number of Applications Submitted: view the number of applications each applicant has submitted.

Note: reporting data reflects submitted applications only.

The dashboard gives you quick visibility into application activity and progress in one place. For instructions on filtering, reviewing, and exporting report data, review Working with the Reporting Dashboard.

TargetX Enhancements

Application Review

Version 2609.0

  • The App Reader and Application Review Type Editor pages have improved accessibility.
Communication Planner

Version 2609.1

  • SMS Undelivered helps identify recipients whose mobile numbers cannot successfully receive text messages, helping you keep contact data accurate and improve SMS delivery rates. For details, see Managing SMS Undelivered.
  • You can cancel scheduled Quick Messages before they are sent from either the Quick Message list or the message details, giving you time to correct errors, update content, or prevent an unintended message from being delivered. For details, see Canceling Quick Messages.
  • Track Membership helps you identify and report on recipients who receive communications within a track. This gives teams clearer insight into campaign participation and engagement, while allowing administrators to enable tracking only for the tracks that need it. For details, see Track Membership.
  • New objects have been added to support the Track Membership feature: Track_Membership (TX_CommPlanner__Track_Membership__c)
  • The Communication Planner sends improved email notifications when an SMS Inbox has one or more unread messages. The notification lets you quickly access the correct inbox and respond to new SMS messages. For details, see Managing SMS Inboxes.
  • You can send a test SMS directly from the Content tab when creating or editing a Quick Message. This lets you validate the message content and delivery audience before sending the final SMS. For details, see Creating Quick Messages.
  • You can view conversations from unknown senders and add them to your CRM to capture new contacts, maintain complete records, and support timely follow-up. For details, see Managing Messages From Unknown SMS Senders.
  • The Communication Planner displays a warning icon when the active SMS Inbox cannot sync successfully. This helps you identify and correct issues promptly. For details, see Monitoring SMS Inbox Sync Status.
  • Communication Planner displays Twilio delivery errors directly in the recipient list, helping users identify and troubleshoot SMS issues without needing to access the Twilio Console. For details, see Handling Invalid Twilio Credentials for SMS Messaging.
  • You can use View Details to review a message's configuration, recipients, content settings, and activity without opening the edit experience. This makes it easier to quickly verify message information while avoiding unintended changes. For details, see Viewing Quick Message Details.
Engage

Version 2609.0

  • You can limit the number of students who can join a room's queue. This helps teams manage high-volume periods and helps ensure staff can serve a manageable number of students before office hours end. For details, see Limiting Capacity for Engage rooms.
Events

Version 2609.0

  • A new internal Appointment Notes field is available on the Office Appointment Details page. Staff users can use this field to record private, appointment-specific information that is not visible to nonstaff users. Notes entered in the field are saved to the TargetX Note object. For details, see Working with Office Appointments in Appointment Scheduler.
  • When enabled in Appointment Scheduler Settings, the Custom Filter Field will appear on the Office Appointment details page. This provides staff with context on the user's selected criteria when preparing for the appointment.
Recruitment Manager

Version 2609.0

  • Enhanced validation for Source to Master mappings helps prevent configuration issues in application and contact rollup processes, with an override option for admins to handle advanced scenarios. For more information, see Using Profile Builder for Student and Contacts.
Retention

Version 2609.1

Telemarketing

Version 2609.0

  • Improved accessibility on the Telemarketing page provides accessible labels for form fields, including the call-notes text area. The Campaign and Status drop-downs also include accessible names, helping screen reader users identify and interact with each control.
Resolved Defects

Applicant Dashboard (Version 2609.0)

  • (CL-2622) The Finish Application window displays accurate information during the application submission process. Previously, the window could present inaccurate or misleading information when applicants were completing their applications.

Communication Planner (Version 2609.0 & Back-End Update*)

*Items marked with an asterisk are included in the back-end update and do not require a package upgrade.

  • (CL-2551) Communication Planner displays sent and received statuses for campaigns, ensuring that delivery metrics accurately reflect the actual outcome of each message. Previously, campaign messages could display incorrect sent/received information, resulting in discrepancies between the reported status and the actual delivery behavior.
  • (CL-2555) Communication Planner allows users to successfully update synced rows, even when those rows were previously deleted from associated templates, without generating errors. Previously, attempting to update synced rows that had been removed from templates could result in an error, preventing users from modifying those records as expected.
  • *(CL-2560) SMS messages sent via the standard campaign flow appear correctly in the SMS Inbox, allowing users to review and manage outbound campaign conversations alongside other SMS activity. Previously, SMS messages sent through the standard campaign flow did not display in the SMS Inbox, limiting visibility into those campaign communications.
  • (CL-2579) The Contact Record page remains visible when accessing SMS Inbox-related functionality, providing consistent navigation behavior within Communication Planner. Previously, navigating from the Contact Record page could unexpectedly redirect users directly to the SMS Inbox instead of keeping them on the contact record.
  • (CL-2585) Inbound SMS messages appear correctly in the SMS Inbox in UCP, ensuring that incoming communications are visible and manageable alongside other message activity. Previously, some inbound SMS messages did not display in the SMS Inbox, reducing visibility into incoming contact responses.
  • *(CL-2602) TargetX Email and Communication Planner successfully completes SendGrid registration even when required DNS records already exist, allowing registration to proceed without error in this configuration. Previously, attempting to register with SendGrid when DNS records were already in place could trigger an error, blocking completion of the registration process.
  • (CL-2606) Communication Planner fully loads intended recipients before sending, preventing duplicate sends caused by partial or incomplete recipient loads. Previously, an incomplete recipient load could cause some recipients to receive the same communication more than once, resulting in unintended duplicate messages.
  • *(CL-2612) Conditional content correctly evaluates conditions and expressions that include parentheses and displays the appropriate content in sent emails. Previously, the Communication Planner did not render conditional content when its condition or expression value contained parentheses, although content without parentheses displayed correctly.
  • *(CL-2616) The SMS element correctly respects delivery status and does not resend messages that have already reached a Delivered state, ensuring that contacts receive a single intended message. Previously, in certain scenarios, the SMS element could resend messages even after they were marked as Delivered, resulting in duplicate SMS deliveries.

Email (Back-End Update*)

*Items marked with an asterisk are included in the back-end update and do not require a package upgrade.

  • *(CL-2556) Email broadcasts sent via TX Email correctly insert member data, ensuring that broadcast records reflect all intended recipient information. Previously, some email broadcast member data was not inserted as expected, resulting in incomplete recipient records for those broadcasts.

Engage (Version 2609.0)

  • (CL-2588) The handling of special characters in Engage calendar entries ensures characters display correctly. Previously, certain special characters were incorrectly encoded, resulting in display issues within calendar events.

Events (Version 2609.0)

  • (CL-2582) The Appointment Scheduler displays input fields correctly, with no visual elements appearing in the left menu. Previously, the end of an input field could appear incorrectly in the left navigation menu.
  • (CL-2593) The Events registration page displays TX Forms and custom questions with consistent spacing. Previously, excessive whitespace could appear between the TX Form and the custom questions.
  • (CL-2597) Appointment availability checks ensure availability is evaluated correctly. Previously, users could encounter errors when checking appointment availability.
  • (CL-2598) Cancellation notifications are sent correctly to students and staff when appointments are canceled. Previously, cancellation emails could fail to send.
  • (CL-2641) The Appointment Calendar displays appointment start and end times consistently and accurately. Previously, minute discrepancies could occur between appointment start and end times displayed on the calendar.

Object Dictionary (Manual Update)

  • (CL-2538) Object Dictionary filters the Standard Objects list to include searchable objects and exclude system-generated objects whose names end in Share, Feed, History, ChangeEvent, or Tag. Previously, Object Dictionary included all objects returned by Salesforce’s global schema describe call, except objects with names containing __.

Online Application (Version 2609.0)

  • (CL-2553) Restricted picklist values in Online Applications retain their selected options correctly. Previously, option values could be cleared unexpectedly for restricted picklists.
  • (CL-2569) Online Applications allow submissions after adding and removing child object records with attachments. Previously, this action could prevent the application from being submitted.
  • (CL-2570) Attachment handling prevents errors when adding and removing additional attachments. Previously, these actions could generate a console error.
  • (CL-2635) The Online Application hides the option to start a new application when no active deadlines are available. Previously, users could receive an inaccurate message indicating that an existing hidden application prevented them from starting a new application.

Payment Connector (Version 2609.0)

  • (CL-2653) TouchNet payment confirmations use a 120-second timeout, allowing additional time for successful payment responses to be processed and accurately reflected in Salesforce. Previously, Payment confirmations used the default 10-second timeout, which could cause Salesforce to record a failed confirmation even when the payment was successfully processed in TouchNet, resulting in applicants being incorrectly marked as unpaid.

TX Forms (Base Version 2609.28)

  • (CL-2576) When a picklist question is moved within a TX Form, any selected values are preserved. Previously, moving a picklist question within a TX Form caused the picklist values to refresh.
  • (CL-2584) Text contained within list items in a question or form description now displays using the intended text color. Previously, text within list items in a description could appear in dark gray instead of the standard description text color.

TX Print (Back-End Update)

  • (CL-2624) Merge fields in generated letters preserve the expected display of blank values, line breaks, and numeric fields when report data is retrieved through the Excel API. Previously, some merge field values reflected API-provided formatting rather than the intended letter output when using the report export to the Excel API.

Shared Lookup Table Updates for Spring 2027

March 2027

Many fields in the CAS Applicant Portal contain predefined answer values that applicants can select; for example, the Country and County fields both have predefined answer values. These values are housed in shared "lookup tables" which are viewable in your CAS's/UniCAS's data dictionary file.

Lookup table change requests can be sent to a member of your account team, who will compile and review these requests. New lookup table values will appear in the CAS Applicant Portal in March 2027 (subject to change).

Visit the Shared Lookup Table Updates page for more information.
