About ResidencyCAS

Welcome to ResidencyCAS. This platform provides the tools needed to manage residency applications, review candidates, coordinate interviews, and support program selection activities. Use this guide to get started and learn about the available portals and features.

How To Use This Guide

Understanding ResidencyCAS Portals

ResidencyCAS includes several portals that support different stages of the application, letters of recommendation, review, and interview process. The table below describes each portal and its primary purpose.

🎓 Medical School Portal
Medical school staff

Manage applicants by inviting them to apply and submitting supporting documentation and school-required materials.

👤 Applicant Portal
Applicants Complete application requirements, submit documents, and track application progress throughout the process. 
✍️ Evaluator Portal
Evaluators and delegates Complete and submit SLOEs, recommendations, and evaluations on behalf of applicants. 
🛠️ Configuration Portal
Program directors, managers, and coordinators 

Upload program branding image(s) and program description links.

📋 Program Portal
Program directors, managers, coordinators, and reviewers

Review applications, manage applicants, collaborate with reviewers, and make informed selection decisions.

Important: the Program Portal includes two separate environments: production (live) and sandbox (testing). These environments are completely independent, and changes or configurations made in one do not carry over to the other.

🤝 Interview Portal
Program directors, managers, coordinators, interviewers, and reviewers Schedule interviews, manage interview events, collect evaluations, calculate scores, and develop final rankings.

Requesting Access

  • Program directors and managers/coordinators: contact support and include your name, email, organization/residency program name, and position/role.
  • All other users: contact your program director or manager/coordinator for approval. If access is approved, the program director or managers/coordinator can add the new user directly or email support with the individual's name, email, organization/residency program name, and position/role.

Getting-Started Checklist

If you’re new to your role or looking for your yearly checklist, we recommend completing the following tasks over several months leading up to and through the application release date. 

Preparation Tasks (complete in June/July)

Access the sandbox environment to test any features of interest.
