Verification Requirements
The transcript and coursework entry selections you make determine the level of verification performed by the CAS staff. Note that some CASs do not offer verification, regardless of types of transcripts and coursework. To confirm if your CAS offers verification, contact your Account Manager.
Transcript and Coursework Options |
Definition |
Official Transcripts Sent to CAS |
Applicants are required to have their official transcripts mailed directly to the CAS by the issuing institution’s registrar’s office. Once received, the CAS’s operations team validates each transcript for authenticity. Transcripts are provided in WebAdMIT as a high-resolution PDF. CASs also accept e-transcripts from Credential Solutions, National Student Clearinghouse, and Parchment. |
Applicant Uploaded Unofficial Transcripts |
Applicants can upload a copy of their unofficial transcript(s) directly in the Academic History section the application. These transcripts are provided in WebAdMIT as a high-resolution PDF. Note that unofficial transcript(s) are not verified. If you are configured to accept unofficial transcripts, applicants that apply and have their transcripts processed for other programs requiring official transcripts are considered to have submitted their transcripts. |
Custom Transcript Sending Instructions |
Applicants can view your custom transcript requirements, such as sending their transcripts directly to your institution or uploading them under the Program Materials section. Depending upon your instructions, these transcripts may or may not be available in WebAdMIT. |
No Transcripts |
Applicants are not required to have transcripts sent directly to the CAS. These transcripts will not be available in WebAdMIT. |
Full Coursework Entry with Full Verification |
Applicants will enter all the coursework they have completed at any college or university attended in order to submit their application. The CAS will verify this data for accuracy and calculate several GPAs which will be available in WebAdMIT, including GPA by Year, GPA by Subject, and GPA by School. |
Full Coursework Entry with No Verification |
Applicants will enter all the coursework they have completed at any college or university attended in order to submit their application. No GPAs are provided to you in WebAdMIT. |

Applicants will only enter specific courses they have completed to match your prerequisite course requirements. These courses are available in a “read-only” format in WebAdMIT and are not verified. Additionally, only Per Transcript and Overall GPAs are provided to you in WebAdMIT. Note that if any data point is missing from the transcript, then GPAs may not be available. |

Foreign Transcripts and Evaluations
While the College Transcripts configuration process described above is geared toward the collection of US and English-Canadian transcripts, it also applies to foreign transcripts:
- When you select Applicant Uploaded Unofficial Transcripts, applicants can upload unofficial foreign transcripts.
- When you select Official Transcripts Sent to CAS, the CAS collects domestic official transcripts but does not collect foreign transcripts. However, a button appears in the application allowing applicants to order a foreign coursework evaluation. Depending on the CAS, the applicant can order the electronic evaluation directly from either World Education Services (WES), Inc. or Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE), Inc. Once complete, the evaluation is transmitted directly to the CAS and is available for viewing in WebAdMIT. If the applicant wants to order an evaluation from any other agency, they can download an evaluation request form. Once the CAS receives the printed evaluation, it's scanned and uploaded to WebAdMIT.
Note for BusinessCAS, EngineeringCAS, and GradCAS: regardless of your configuration selection, applicants can upload unofficial foreign transcripts and/or order an evaluation:
If your program requires official foreign transcripts (as opposed to unofficial foreign transcripts or a foreign coursework evaluation), you can add instructions to your program's home page indicating how institutions can mail you the applicant's official foreign transcripts. For example:
If you're worried that applicants might miss this information, consider adding a custom question to serve as a reminder. For example:
Once the CAS receives the electronic or printed evaluation, you can view it in WebAdMIT under the Documents panel on the Applicant Details Page:
Additionally, the GPA is populated in the GPA Overview panel.
